Her father was an influential man, of course he could press the release of his children if he so wished, but as a Ravenclaw her brother valued his studies over the celebration as he was heading into his OWLs. Qudrah was requested to stay back to keep an eye on him and do her studies also. [break][break] Apparently, Qudrah's new sister-in-law's family had significant holdings in an amazing area of East Africa and despite the original idea of returning to Pakistan for the wedding... it would take place in this wizarding village on the edge of a picturesque jungle. The night after the wedding, whilst everyone slept off the celebrations - disaster struck. A wild nundu had walked into the area and a stray child getting up to see their mother scared the creature. Within moments, the entire wedding party and Qudar's extended family were dead.[break][break] The disaster is still yet to be discovered - it only happened two days ago. Qudrah and Hazeem are in the dark that they are the sole survivors of the ancient line of Shafiq.
